Mr. Puyol earned his Law degree at Universidad de Chile Law School (2007) and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) at The University of Chicago (2011). He has more than a decade of experience in Litigation, Arbitration, and Bankruptcy.
Before forming Grunberg Puyol, he was part of Carey Law Firm’s Litigation, Arbitration, and Bankruptcy Practice (2013 to 2018).
He has counseled multinational and Chilean companies in commercial, insurance and civil liability conflicts, public tenders and EPC contractual disputes, among others. He has extensive experience in domestic and international litigation and arbitration, and was recently appointed to the roster of young arbitrators of the Chamber of Commerce of Santiago (CAM Santiago).
In bankruptcy matters, he has counseled clients in judicial restructuring of assets and the liquidation process under Law No. 20,720, which reformulated the Bankruptcy statute of Chile in 2014 (proceedings analogous to Chapter 7 and 11 restructuring under US Law).
Since Law School, he has participated as a teaching assistant at Universidad de Chile’s Department of Private Law and is currently a collaborator of Instituto de Estudios Judiciales (Institute of Judicial Studies) and a Lecturer of the Judiciary Academy, teaching court officials throughout Chile.
He is a member of the Chilean Bar (2007) and the New York State Bar (2012), and is thus admitted to practice law in the State of New York, USA.
